Was that a castle?

I don’t know what it is with Hollywood Royalty, but purchasing a palace abroad is commonplace in certain circles. Ireland is a popular spot (John Huston, Roy Disney, etc.)  I don’t know if it has to do with availability or price, but there you have it.

I heard a newly minted mogul recently bemoaning his circumstances. “Of course it’s a freakin’ castle, turrets, you name it, but there’s a farm down the street and every Wednesday the place just, holy f’ing Christ, it just stinks like pig sh-t!”

First of all, I’m not familiar with that particular scent… and, second of all, REALLY? One can afford a castle (maybe even a Duchy) and there’s complaining?

Something a parental figure used to say, “Count your blessings.”

And,

a handy definition:

noblesse oblige

/nōˈbles ōˈblēZH/ the inferred responsibility of privileged people to act with generosity and nobility toward those less privileged: there was to being a celebrity a certain element of noblesse oblige

via noblesse oblige: definition of noblesse oblige in Oxford dictionary (American English) (US).
