I don’t know what it is with Hollywood Royalty, but purchasing a palace abroad is commonplace in certain circles. Ireland is a popular spot (John Huston, Roy Disney, etc.) I don’t know if it has to do with availability or price, but there you have it.
I heard a newly minted mogul recently bemoaning his circumstances. “Of course it’s a freakin’ castle, turrets, you name it, but there’s a farm down the street and every Wednesday the place just, holy f’ing Christ, it just stinks like pig sh-t!”
First of all, I’m not familiar with that particular scent… and, second of all, REALLY? One can afford a castle (maybe even a Duchy) and there’s complaining?
